All the answers to the most common questions on eyelash extensions
Eyelash extensions are becoming more and more loved by ladies and the reasons are very clear: your eyes look bigger, your glance becomes more seductive and they reduce considerably your makeup routine. Furthermore, most women seem to have no time or patience to apply fake eyelashes every day.
Here you’ll find all the answers to the most common questions on lash extensions.
Do eyelash extensions ruin your natural lashes?
There is not any proof that can confirm that eyelash extension could ruin your natural lashes. Or better still, lash extensions alone won’t ruin your natural lashes.
Here is a list of the things that may ruin them:
- years of bad application;
- improper care for long-term;
- the stylist doesn’t select the correct type of lash for your existing natural lash;
- applying extension that are too heavy for the natural lash;
- rubbing your eyes.
Bear in mind to go only to reputable and well-reviewed salons.
Will Your Natural Eyelashes Grow Back After Extensions?
Yes, they will. You need to keep present that eyelashes are hair, and unless you have a pre-existing condition, hair grows back.
So, any eventual breakage or fallout of your natural eyelashes should resolve itself as part of typical lash growth cycle.
How long does it take to apply lash extensions?
Applying a full set of lashes to a client takes about 90 minutes to 2 hours. It depends on the style of your choice (for example, we distinguish between Classic and Volume Eyelash Extensions) and the number of lashes applied, so it will depend on the condition, the lenght and thickness of your natural lashes.
Also, installing eyelash extensions is a laborious and ultra-careful process. You shouldn’t be on rush on the day of your appointment, because patience and concentration are factually required here!
How long do eyelash extensions last for?
Your eyelashes are subjected to a natural cycle of shedding and regrowth which is not the same for all your lashes: some are getting to fall out, whereas others are in a period of growth.
Now, since an individual extension is applied to an individual lash, that extension will fall out on its own when the eyelash sheds from the lash line.
If you won’t aggravate this shedding process by using mascara or compromising the glue with bad products, your eyelash extensions should last up to a month and refills will be necessary every 2-3 weeks to maintain the best result.
Can I wear makeup to my eyelash extension appointment?
No! you’ll want to show up to your appointment completely bare-faced, so no mascara, eyeliner and no eyeshadow.
In fact, anything on your lids or lashes could extremely affect how your extensions turn out and their endurance.
Can I swim or shower with my eyelash extensions?
You can, but after 24 hours from your appointment. It’s important to wait for this time in order to let the glue to do hid job.
So, be gentle with your lashes and make sure that no water goes on them during this time.
Can you wear eye makeup with eyelash extensions? Is it okay to also wear mascara?
It’s not recommended to use mascara with eyelash extensions. Especially because when you attempt to take it off at the end of the day, you can actually ruin your extensions.
But if you’re anyway planning to wear mascara in addition to the extensions, at least, only use it on the tips of the extensions and with a very light hand.
If you’ve already got your eyelash extensions, look how to take care of them.
