Strictly – If you’re in need of some party hairstyle and make-up inspiration, look no further than Strictly. The world of glitz and glamour, vibrant make-up and fabulous hairstyles, it is the perfect place to steal an idea or two for the Christmas party season. Here are 5 of our favourite looks this year.

1. Ruth Langsford

Ruth really rocks this short, voluminous hairstyle. The waves give her hair a bounce and glow, it’s a style that never goes out of fashion and is ageless. Her brown smokey eyes with a touch of highlighter in the corners and soft caramel lips make sure that it’s balanced out into a sophisticated look.

2. Alexandra Burke

Straight at the top, and beautiful waves from around the middle section – Alexandra Burke looks just FA-BU-LOUS as Craig would put it. Her hair oozes health and shine. Peach lips are paired with lighter eye  shadow to highlight her eyes and create a perfect glow.

3. Chizzy Akudolu

Now that’s colour contouring at its best. The hair colouring trend of this year. The light caramels at the front create deceptions of light and effect in a slightly rounder face, enhancing Chizzy’s flawless skin. The caramels are repeated at the sides and back resulting in a classy balayage. From then on, it’s all about highlighting what needs to be highlighted and playing with colours. Burgundy lips suit both dark and light skin, it’s just a question of dress …

4. Mollie King

This is the sort of hair that looks great on any dance floor really. Heat tongues are used to create big waves that are then combed to create the desired volume and style. Mollie doesn’t shy away from dramatic hair transformations at times but looks amazing with these beautiful long locks.  Generous eye contour and caramel lips again, to make sure make-up is not too dramatic and to keep the eyes on the dress.

5. Susan Calman

We love this asymmetrical look sported by Susan Calman. It can work really well on ladies who are usually not too keen to wear fancy dress but once a year, they want to add a touch of glamour and perhaps a bit of sparkle to their look. Red lips may be a little over the top for work, but the party season is the perfect place to rock them.

Let’s get the party started!
