If you’ve got bleached hair, you’re surely looking for a way to take care of it. In this guide, you’ll find all the necessary tips for achieving your desired result.

So, follow these easy steps and your hair will stay nourished and your blonde locks will stay classy.

  1. Try not to wash your hair for as long as possible after your salon appointment.
Also, try to keep more distance between two washes.
If it’s your first time as a blonde, you’ll notice that your hair is already drier in texture, so it shouldn’t be a problem to add an extra day or two into your wash schedule. Over-washing can strip your hair of essential moisture and cause your colour to fade.
  2. Use a shampoo that’s been formulated specifically for bleached hair.
It’s worth to invest into a very good quality professional product that nourishes rather than dries your hair, plus to keep any unwanted yellow tones at bay, these shampoos usually contain purple pigments that will neutralise any brassiness and keep your blonde bright.
  3. Wash your hair gently.
Gently massage (do not rub!) shampoo formulated for bleached hair into your hair and on your scalp. Rinse it out properly with plenty of warm water. Most of the dirt is now out. Another round of shampoo, this time it will produce more foam, rinse again and your hair is now nice and clean. Don’t squeeze it or pull it as the hair is very fragile when wet. Try to dab excessive water out in a very gentle way to prepare the hair for conditioner.
  4. Apply a special conditioner recommended for bleached hair.
Make sure that it reaches the length of your hair all over, from roots (not the scalp!) to the tips. Massage it gently around the hair strips. Leave on for 7 minutes and rinse it out with warm water.
  5. Apply a hair mask once a week.
This step is vital for adding some extra nourishment, so make sure to not skip it.
  6. Brushing 1-0-1.
Imagine this: after the wash, your hair is like a wet tissue. Don’t rub it with the towel. Use a wide-tooth comb and brush your hair in a gentle way.
  7. Dry your hair accurately.
Before you start brushing it, rough dry your hair first with a blow dryer on medium heat until about 80% dry. Apply heat bleached hair careprotection spray and styling products, or if you don’t want to blow dry your hair, then apply some detangle spray and brush it afterwards with a soft de-tangler brush gently.
  8.  Avoid Heat styling.
Straightener and heat tongues are not good friends of bleached hair. If you really can’t go without it, make sure you use a good quality heat protection product.
  9. Swim with extra care.
Chlorine turns blonde hair a shade of green; plus, it’s also very damaging and drying to the hair. Using a swimming cap is an absolute must.

These are our 9 commandments for bleached hair care. Follow these and your hair will stay nourished and supple, guaranteed.
